Louis Vuitton Foundation, Franck Gehry chooses Rocherons stone

In 2006, at the initiative of Bernard Arnault, the LVMH group created the Louis Vuitton Foundation. Designed by the American architect Frank Gehry from an initial pencil sketch, the building is presented as a transparent cloud posed at the edge of the Jardin d'Acclimatation in the Bois de Boulogne.

The Rocherons stone was chosen for its shades of beige and its slightly pinkish background with very few shells which harmonized perfectly with the Ductal Iceberg facades. The Rocherons Doré Clair and Doré stones are extracted in Polycor's quarry, located in Burgundy. The Rocherons limestone pieces were manufactured in our factories. The facilities and the roads, on the outskirts of the Foundation, are also made of Rocherons stone.
