Rehabilitation of the Fourvière tunnel in stone Bleu de Lignières

Stone highlighted by the 2BR architecture agency

Installation of the entire facade cladding of the southern entrance to the Fourvière tunnel, located on the A6 in the heart of Lyon. The 2BR architecture agency and the INGEROP design office were commissioned to carry out the renovation.

The architects wanted to keep the spirit of the original work while adding insulation from the outside at the level of the offices of the Metropolis of Lyon. They enhanced and accentuated the monumental spirit of the fireplaces, playing on the vertical contrast with more pronounced joints and on the volumetric with several colors of natural stone: a beige Moleanos stone from Portugal and a gray stone, Bleu de Lignières. The largest cladding tiles have a dimension of 138x60cm. They are all 2cm thick, with a soft finish. The covered area is 4850 m². The wall covering was installed on a new V-Clip structure from LABEL FACADE. The stone slabs are hung by means of point clips, on a horizontal network of aluminum profile rails.
